On August 12, we received a distressing call about a malnourished dog left chained outside. Upon arriving at the scene, we found the poor animal in a feeble state, struggling to move due to severe neglect.
The concerned individual who reported the case informed us that the dog had likely been abandoned in this condition for several weeks by its owner.
Our attempts to rescue the dog were interrupted when the owner appeared and stubbornly refused to release him, insisting on his ownership and declaring the dog as his “property.”
In a shocking revelation, the owner admitted to having bought the dog for a mere $30 when the breed was trendy, only to abandon him after the popularity waned.
The dog, whom we later named Alan, was in critical condition, weighing just 6.5 kg and suffering from dangerously low blood sugar levels.
Without delay, we took Alan to the veterinarian, where he received urgent medical care and insulin injections to stabilize his health.
Over the following days, Alan slowly regained strength. He eagerly devoured his meals and eventually mustered the energy to stand and play.
Despite the trauma he endured, Alan proved to be a sweet and affectionate companion, quickly winning the hearts of those around him and becoming a beloved member of our community.
