During a walk in the woods with our rescue dog, we were startled by cries emanating from the bushes. Our dogs, instinctively aware of a crisis, guided us to a distressed animal urgently needing help.
We discovered a small, trembling dog unable to walk. We later named her Hope. It was heartbreaking to learn she had been abandoned after being exploited for breeding and discarded when she became ill and could no longer serve that purpose.
Weak, hungry, and alone, she was left to fend for herself.

Hope’s body was in rough condition, covered in painful wounds with her skin visibly raw and irritated. We quickly took her to a veterinarian, where numerous tests were conducted to assess her health.
The vet revealed that Hope’s spine was crooked, likely due to being confined in a cramped space, which made her fearful and reclusive.
Additionally, tests uncovered a large hernia and a broken pelvis, explaining her inability to walk. We remained hopeful that she would not be permanently paralyzed.

Hope received urgent care at the veterinary clinic, where she was hospitalized for stabilization and close monitoring. Four days later, she was stable enough to leave the clinic.
Our dedicated volunteer, Krista, took her home and meticulously administered her medications and nutritional supplements, ensuring Hope felt secure and loved.
A month after her initial rescue, Hope showed significant improvement. She was strong enough to undergo surgery to repair her hernia and was also spayed.

Her social nature began to bloom as she interacted more with humans, forming new friendships and revealing a happier demeanor.
Nearly three months after her journey of recovery started, Hope was fully healed. She found a forever home with a family in Metha. Witnessing Hope’s happiness and vitality filled everyone involved in her rescue with joy and fulfillment.
