Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ongoing legal battle over their French winery, Château Miraval, has taken a heated turn, with Jolie’s legal team accusing Pitt of acting like a “petulant child.”
The couple purchased a controlling stake in the South of France estate back in 2008, but their ownership has become a source of intense conflict following their separation.

Jolie’s former investment firm, Nouvel, filed a new legal complaint this week, alleging that Pitt has been waging a “vindictive campaign” to control and “loot” the winners jointly developed by the former couple.
Nouvel’s attorneys stated that Pitt’s investment company, Mondo Bongo, holds an equal 50% stake in Château Miraval, just like Nouvel. However, Pitt’s recent actions suggest he is not treating Jolie’s firm as an equal partner.

The filing claims Pitt is upset that Jolie sold her share of Nouvel to another company, Stoli, instead of him. This disappointment drives him to treat the business as if he has control alone.
According to the filing, “Incensed that Jolie sold Nouvel to Stoli rather than him, Pitt has acted like a petulant child, refusing to treat Nouvel as an equal partner in the business.”
Brad Pitt has spoken about his passion for winemaking and expressed enthusiasm for the business during a 2014 interview with Wine Spectator, where he mentioned his newfound interest in farming.

He said, “I’m a farmer now. I love learning about the land and which field is most suitable for which grape… It’s been a schooling for me.”
However, Jolie’s legal team dismissed Pitt’s claims, arguing that he was “an actor, not a winemaker,” emphasizing that his involvement in the business was minimal due to his movie career.
The court filing points out that during the years he allegedly “built” the business, Pitt was more involved in filming movies, attending Hollywood events, and traveling worldwide for promotional appearances.
Jolie’s legal team also accuses Pitt of mismanaging Château Miraval’s finances, spending profits on “frivolous projects,” such as renovating a recording studio. The allegations raise questions about Pitt’s stewardship of the winery and further complicate an already contentious legal battle.
The dispute between Jolie and Pitt over Château Miraval will likely continue as both parties seek to resolve their legal differences. The latest allegations reveal just how cruel the battle has become, with both sides showing no signs of backing down.
