Angelina Jolie’s son Maddox revealed a large snake tattoo in a recent family photo as his strained relationship with his father, Brad Pitt, continues.
The rare glimpse of the 21-year-old’s new tattoo came during a photoshoot at Angelina’s Los Angeles home, which included her other children.
In a series of images taken for British Vogue’s March Global Creativity issue, one shot shows Angelina adjusting Maddox’s hair as he sits in front of a mirror.
The new tattoo, partially hidden by his arm, wraps around his right side. Another photo captures Angelina enjoying a picnic with Maddox’s siblings: Zahara, Vivienne, and Knox.
In a candid interview with British Vogue, Angelina reflected on her difficult marriage and ongoing custody battle with Brad Pitt.
The couple, who share six children—Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Zahara, and twins Vivienne and Knox—have been at odds since Angelinadivorcede in 2016. In 2019, they were legally declared single, but their custody battle continues.
Angelina expressed her thoughts on healing and finding her way after her turbulent marriage. When asked if she was happy, she replied, “I don’t know.
The past few years have been pretty hard. I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly returning, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.”
She added, “I’m looking forward to my fifties—I feel that I’m gonna hit my stride in my fifties.”
The strained relationship between Maddox and his father reportedly began after a 2015 incident on a private jet that allegedly involved a physical altercation.
Recently, Maddox chose to spend Christmas with his mother while Shiloh and the twins spent the night with Brad, suggesting that the ongoing custody issues have caused rifts within the family.
In the same interview, Angelina spoke about her experience as a mother of six, admitting, “Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom, I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall, traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere… I didn’t imagine it in that true, traditional sense.”
She explained that her children’s resilience has helped her navigate the challenges of being a mother, especially given her non-traditional approach to parenting.
Relations between Brad and Angelina “remain extremely tense,” with the former couple’s custody battle marred by delays, including disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Angelina recently lost her attempt to remove the judge overseeing their case, extending the lengthy legal battle.
Despite the ongoing tension, Brad is seeking a peaceful resolution to the custody issues for the sake of the children.
A source told The Sun, “Brad’s big concern in all this is making some peace, for the kids’ sakes as well as his and Angelina’s.
This spectacles has gone on way too long, and it’s his greatest wish for them to resolve as much as possible outside of the courtroom.”
