Scarlett Johansson made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live, portraying Sen. Katie Britt in a skit that humorously critiqued President Joe Biden.

In the cold open of SNL’s latest episode, Johansson, a 39-year-old Oscar nominee, spoofed the Republican senator who recently responded to Biden’s congressional address.

The segment started with SNL cast members Ego Nwodim as CNN’s Abby Phillip and Mikey Day as Biden, who quipped that Britt’s rebuttal would aid his cause more than his speech.

While the real Sen. Britt criticized Biden’s policies and highlighted his lengthy tenure in office during her rebuttal, Johansson’s parody captured similar sentiments with a comedic twist.

Set in a kitchen, akin to Britt’s actual response setting, Johansson introduced herself as “auditioning for the part of scary mom” and presenting a monologue titled, “This country is hell.”

“I’m not just a senator. I’m a wife and mother and the craziest bitch in the Target parking lot,” Johansson declared, emphasizing her concern for America’s future.

The sketch, hosted by Josh Brolin with Ariana Grande as the musical guest, poked fun at Republican strategies to appeal to women voters.

In a dramatic portrayal, Johansson’s character shared that she and her husband Wesley viewed Biden’s speech, labeling it the act of a “permanent politician.”

She contrasted herself as genuinely concerned, though exaggeratedly dramatic, touching on topics like sex trafficking with dubious facts.

The skit took a humorous turn as Johansson’s Britt promoted “bejeweled cross necklaces” in a QVC-style pitch, followed by a bizarrely seductive monologue.

She lamented the state of the American dream and joked about unsettling family discussions in the kitchen.

With sharp satire, Johansson’s character humorously blamed Biden for the country’s woes, referencing the supposed good times of 2020, and delivered an eerie warning about Sen. Britt’s lasting presence in Biden’s mind.

The sketch ended with Johansson’s Britt breaking into song, declaring to her children that they are “steeped in the blood of patriots in a castle made of bones.” This bizarre scene elicited laughter from Kenan Thompson’s character and concluded with a comical nod to Jordan Peele’s “Get Out.”

“For struggling Americans, know this: We hear you, see you, smell you, and we’re in your kitchen right now,” Johansson’s Britt added, humorously hinting at migrants on the top shelf of the fridge.

Johansson wrapped up her satirical monologue with a haunting message to Biden, promising that Sen. Katie Britt would continue to make her presence felt.
