A solitary puppy found abandoned next to a chair on the side of a road has captured the hearts of many. The four-month-old pup, too frightened to wander far, remained loyal to the last spot where he saw his owners.
The distressing sight was witnessed by Animal Control officer Sharon Norton, who found the puppy clinging to his familiar chair.
Moved by the scene, Norton shared her thoughts on Facebook, expressing dismay: “To the person who deserted this chair, your puppy remained steadfastly there, almost starving, hoping you would return.”
She added her poignant message: “You should feel ashamed for leaving this puppy, but remember, karma has a way.”
Thankfully, Sharon was able to coax the puppy away from his post. He received food, medical care, and was checked by a veterinarian to ensure his health.
News of the puppy’s plight quickly spread, leading to him receiving the affectionate name La-Z-Boy Gatson. He soon found himself overwhelmed with adoption offers.
Fast forward two years, La-Z-Boy Gatson is happily settled with his new family, living with loving owners and a canine sister.
Despite the sorrowful start to his life, La-Z-Boy Gatson’s story has a positive ending.
