In July, a heartbreaking discovery was made in Transylvania, Romania. A puppy was found tied inside a plastic trash bag, in dire condition.
When rescuers opened the bag, they were met with a shocking sight: the young dog had a broken leg, was suffering from severe starvation and dehydration, and had maggots feasting on her flesh.
The dog also bore a serious head injury, suggesting a brutal attempt to end her life, as Helen Taylor mentioned to loveanimalss.com.

The puppy was immediately transported to Transylvania Animal Care, where she received urgent medical attention. The veterinary team first treated the swelling in her brain and then focused on removing the maggots.
They decided to name the resilient dog Anora, meaning “light,” to reflect her incredible fighting spirit.

Anora’s journey to recovery eventually led her to the United Kingdom, where she found a permanent home with Helen Taylor’s family. She recently underwent surgery on her leg and is making remarkable progress.
Once a frail and frightened pup on the brink of death, Anora has transformed into a lively and healthier dog. Thanks to her new, loving family, she will soon enjoy running and playing freely.
