When 33-year-old Ryan Jessen unexpectedly passed away from a brain hemorrhage, the hospital staff responded in a truly compassionate manner.
The medical team allowed Ryan’s family to bring his beloved dog, Molly, to the hospital to say a final goodbye, helping her understand why her owner would not return home.

“The hospital was extremely gracious to us,” Ryan’s sister, Michelle, shared in a heartfelt Facebook post. “If you knew my brother, you knew how much he loved his precious puppy.”
Although the touching farewell between Ryan and Molly was initially intended for family viewing, the video quickly touched hearts across the internet, going viral.

“The stories shared by others, their participation in our grief, and the kindness shown by so many have profoundly moved and humbled us,” Michelle wrote, expressing her gratitude for the support they received.
Molly, whom Ryan loved dearly, will continue to be well cared for by the family. “Don’t worry about the dog!” assured Michelle. “We’re going to keep her.

She is a member of the family.” In addition to providing grace to the family during a difficult time, Ryan’s story has brought hope to others: his donor heart will save the life of a 17-year-old just in time for Christmas.
