Svetlana Ostabekova, a compassionate animal rescuer, sprang into action when she received news of a dog in dire need of help. Venturing into the wilderness, she soon spotted the dog from afar.
When Svetlana got closer, she recognized the dog as Bunny — an elderly canine abandoned by his owner simply due to his age. Bunny was left on his own, lying among a few scattered tiles and rocks for shelter, after recently being deserted.
Bunny was in a frail state, covered in flies and insects with no strength to resist them. His sorrowful eyes showed no response to the presence of people nearby.
Despite the pain from his wounds, Bunny seemed to have accepted his situation, with his eyes half-closed in resignation. The heartbreaking sight deeply affected Svetlana, who immediately rushed him to the hospital.
During the journey, Svetlana carefully laid Bunny on a soft blanket in her car. Although he remained motionless, she was relieved to confirm he was still breathing.
Once at the hospital, Bunny began to regain consciousness in the safe surroundings. He had numerous injuries, including swollen legs and poor vision.
Medical staff attended to Bunny’s wounds to make him comfortable. Gradually, his senses returned, and he started eating well after being deprived of food for days.
Watching Bunny eat with renewed enthusiasm brought immense relief to Svetlana. Despite the severe conditions he faced, including necrosis and damage to his limbs and vital organs, his will to survive was remarkable.
Reflecting on Bunny’s ordeal, Svetlana was overcome with emotion, saddened by his suffering. Nonetheless, Bunny’s recovery gave her hope. With the care and love provided by Svetlana, he managed to stand and walk sooner than expected.
Though still weak, Bunny expressed his gratitude to Svetlana through his gentle eyes. The road to full recovery would be long and challenging, but with unwavering support from Svetlana and others, they were confident he would overcome this adversity.
Svetlana vowed to remain by Bunny’s side, hoping for a future where he enjoys peace and good health.
