When Jennifer Hall, the founder and director of Logan’s Legacy 29, learned about a dog in critical need, she rushed to the scene without hesitation. Upon arrival, she found a struggling dog and immediately recognized the urgency to act fast to save its life.
“She’s in shock,” Hall shared on Facebook. “Rescue work is tough. It’s emotional and frightening, but I’m here to be their voice.”
Carefully carrying the injured dog, whom she promptly named Inky, Hall drove straight to her local veterinary clinic for a comprehensive medical evaluation. During the drive, she was charmed by Inky’s delightful personality.
Word about Inky’s rescue soon spread, and within a day, her owner was located. The owner, devastated, quickly made his way to the vet upon hearing about Inky—whose real name is Tulum—and was overwhelmed with emotion when he saw her condition.
“She’s all he has,” Hall wrote on Facebook. “She’s his entire world. We both cried and hugged. My heart ached for his broken spirit.”
Though relieved to reunite with Tulum after her disappearance, her owner was overwhelmed by her medical needs and the looming costs. At the time of the rescue, Tulum appeared paralyzed below her neck, and she required extensive tests and treatments.
Faced with an unaffordable medical bill, Tulum’s owner was uncertain about how to proceed. This is when Hall stepped in, rallying her online community to raise funds for Tulum’s treatment, successfully covering the expenses.
Tulum’s journey to recovery began with seeing her owner, a comforting presence that sparked a positive change in her.
“Those little eyes looking up at her daddy reflected hope,” Hall commented on Facebook.
On November 6, 2024, Tulum underwent successful surgery to treat her injuries. Thanks to physical therapy and laser treatment, she began regaining mobility, much to the delight and hope of Hall and the caregivers.
“Her progress in therapy is incredible,” Hall updated her followers. “She’s even responding to touch. I truly anticipate a Christmas miracle.”
After several weeks in recovery, Tulum was ready to go home. Her reunion with her owner was filled with joy, with the little dog unable to contain her excitement.
“She couldn’t get back to him fast enough,” Hall shared on Facebook. “Tulum and her dad are together again.”
Their heartwarming reunion left both Tulum and her owner overwhelmed with happiness as they left the veterinary clinic. Hall felt privileged to witness such a touching story unfold.
“SHE IS A MIRACLE,” Hall expressed. “I simply can’t stop crying.”
