A little kitten named Poppy found her dreams coming true after being rescued from the side of a road where she had been seeking help.
About two months ago, a kind passerby noticed a small kitten crawling along the road and stopped to assist. As soon as the kitten saw her rescuer, she cried out and inched closer, grateful for the intervention.
Ellen Carozza from the Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation (CGMFF) told Love Meow, “She was lucky someone saw her and saved her.”

Tiny Poppy was in rough shape. She was extremely underweight, covered in ticks, suffering from stomach issues, and had broken front legs.
The animal group To The ResQ quickly took her in, provided initial medical care, and recognized the need for further assistance. They reached out to Ellen, who is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable kittens through her foundation.
While it remained a mystery how Poppy ended up injured on the road, one thing was certain: her future would be filled with love. Ellen brought Poppy into her care, cleaned her up, and fashioned new splints for her injured legs.

Using a treatment plan from a previous case involving a kitten with similar injuries, Ellen and her team went to work. In just a few days of tender care, Poppy gained weight and strength.
She enjoyed being gently brushed and cuddled, dreaming of playing like a carefree kitten once more.
Remarkably, the splints didn’t bother Poppy at all. She’d lay on her back, proudly showing her belly. After a week of treatment, Poppy’s progress was evident, allowing her to enjoy some playtime with another kitten.
Her charm won over all she met, both human and feline.

As Poppy healed, nothing could hold back her playful spirit. “She decided enough is enough and wants them off,” Ellen remarked when Poppy cleverly removed her splints, sauntering around as if they had never been there.
With her splints gone, Poppy’s spirited and mischievous nature blossomed. She explored with curiosity, choosing to nap in a box of clean pee pads instead of her bed and diving into freshly laundered clothes as they were folded.

Delighting in her freedom, Poppy climbed a cat tree’s highest perch, contentedly stretching out like a little ballerina. “Poppy loves to play, climb, and be a normal kitten. We are very proud that she recovered so well,” shared Ellen.
Following her difficult start, Poppy was ready for a new beginning. She hoped for a forever home full of love, and fortune smiled upon her.
While Poppy recuperated, a previous adopter was on the lookout for a companion for her cat Finnegan, who had also been rescued by Ellen’s foundation.

Captivated by Poppy’s plucky personality, the adopter knew she would be a wonderful addition to her family. Today, Poppy is a lively and spirited young cat who thrives in her loving home, fulfilling the dream she once wished for.
Feel free to share Poppy’s heartwarming tale with others who might enjoy it.
