Scarlett Johansson, a two-time Oscar-nominated actress, has shared that she nearly gave up on acting after a series of rejections left her questioning her career path.

Johansson, known for her role in “Lost in Translation,” revealed that the tipping point came in 2011 when she was passed over for significant roles in favor of Emily Blunt and Sandra Bullock.

She expressed her frustration to Variety, stating, “I had wanted that role so much. It was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back. I felt frustrated and hopeless. Like, ‘Am I doing the right job?’”

Specifically, Johansson missed out on roles in “Iron Man 2” and Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity.” These rejections made heroes question her future in the industry, as the roles she was offered felt unfulfilling.

She noted,k I was offered every Marilyn Monroe script ever. I was like, ‘Is this the end of the road creatively?’”
