A touching video has recently captured the hearts of social media users, showcasing an emotional scene at a rescue shelter involving a mother dog and a man.
The video, shared by the Kluang Johor Stray Dog Home, depicts a man driving to the shelter with an adult dog in his car, along with a bundle of five newborn puppies whose eyes are yet to open.
Upon arriving, he places the animals on the ground at the entrance of the shelter and turns to leave. The mother dog, realizing his intentions, clings desperately to his legs, seemingly begging him not to leave her and her puppies behind.

Her attempts to hold on are in vain as the man resolutely shakes her off and quickly drives away, leaving the dog standing alone and distressed behind him.
Shelter staff soon found the abandoned family and immediately took them to a veterinarian for evaluation. Initially, it was suspected that the mother dog might have breast cancer.
Upon further medical examination, it was found that she was actually suffering from pyometra, a severe infection of the uterus that will require surgery once her puppies are weaned.

Additionally, plans have been made to sterilize the puppies in the future to prevent similar health issues.
The shelter, already caring for over a thousand animals and facing financial pressures, found itself further strained by this unexpected situation.
The pandemic has led to decreased donations, making it difficult to meet the needs of the animals already in their care. The abandonment of the dog and her puppies added to their challenges, leaving them in a state of frustration and dismay.
In response, the shelter launched a heartfelt social media appeal, inviting anyone—be it friends, strangers, or kind followers—to donate what they could.

They highlighted the importance of collective contributions, noting that even small donations could accumulate to make a significant impact.
The community has responded with kindness, sharing the post and contributing donations. Sadly, the shelter later reported that two of the puppies did not survive.
The man who left the dogs has reached out to the shelter’s president to apologize, explaining that the dogs were strays and that his own financial troubles prevented him from properly caring for them.
